A gorgeous Syrah from Oakridge's close-planted vines, 5200 vines per hectare no less.
It's a such a lovely drink with a long, silky frame. White pepper is distinctive on opening and speaks so vividly of cool climate Syrah. Cherries, dark plums and blueberries build a flavour profile that is flanked by char, wood smoke, a little meaty edge and dried herbs. It moves and sways to an easy tempo, but I keep coming back to that lacy, silky frame. Excellent stuff.
