This is a Nero d'Avola from Pizzini that walks with confidence and charm.
Black cherries and blackberries take centre stage joined by a lively yet cheeky burst of sour cherries. Pretty scents of red flowers tease and there is an earthy presence coupled with dried Mediterranean herbs that get my attention. Silky and supple as it glides along, a spicy lick reminds you of its Sicilian roots. At home beside pizza, lamb chops, eggplant parmigiana or a bowl of pasta, a cool night by the fire pit will do just fine as well. Great stuff.
