Tuck this Grenache Touriga under your arm for a casual barbecue or gathering.
From McLaren Vale producer Three Dark Horses, it initially took some time to coax out its true personality, but be patient and the attractive red flower aromas that are hidden away will soon be revealed. A 70/30 blend, waves of boysenberry, red cherries and baked cherry fruit build a neat fruit profile with chocolate nibs, a dusting of earthiness and charred steak adding some savoury appeal. It possesses a fine textural presence with dusty tannins and meat rub spices that cling to the finish. A little acid ping rises up late that pulls it back a touch, but have a glass with food and you'll be none the wiser.
