Proper Sangiovese from a place you wouldn't expect, this is softly spiced, crunchy, savoury and red fruit driven deliciousness. I kept going back and I couldn't get enough - a bit of Taylor Dayne factor.
Cherries, cherry pips, plums and fine spices are the order of the day with a shimmer of dried herbs and cured meat in the background. That crunchy acidity speaks so proudly of the variety and the way it's been handled here is a credit to the making. Sangiovese is renowned for its food friendliness, but I could down a glass or two on its own as I sit back and watch the world go by. Great stuff.
