Tense, spicy and firm through the mid-palate, this Pikes Eastside Shiraz held similar form over a couple of days of tasting.
It has clenched-fist tension, and you get the sense that it wants the flavour to be unleashed, but it's being held captive. A dusting of cocoa powder coats the palate, yet the main takeaway is that it's drying, spicy with a warming finish. I'd prefer others.
