Gundog Estate Indomitus Rosa 2024

Sourced from the Hilltops in NSW, this Gundog Estate Indomitus Rosa is a Rosé made from Sangiovese. Like its Indomitus Albus sibling, this is all about experimenting with texture and complexity and it nails the brief.

It sees 12 hours of skin contact and the juice was pressed off to seasoned French oak barrels and stainless steel. Each parcel sat on lees for six months prior to bottling.

Super bright in the glass and rocking some watermelon and cranberry juice vibes, this is alive with cranberries, red currants, the white bit of the watermelon and red apple skin. Some apricot kernel slides in to add further appeal.

A composed mouthfeel is highlighted by a strawberries and cream undertow that threads its way through the core. A fine veil of spice pins itself to the finish with a whip crack of crisp red apple on close.

But the big tip is not to serve this too cold and you'll see it at its best. This is really well done.

Drink now.
