Sourced from three vineyards in Blewitt Springs and McLaren Flat (x2), the 2025 release will feature some of the new plantings from the Upper Tintara. Sitting roughly one kilometre from the famed High Sands vineyard, it comes as no surprise that the new vineyard features deep silica sand with flecks of ironstone throughout. I was only at this site a couple of months ago and its debut harvest is eagerly awaited. That day in the vineyard was also memorable for the deer that jumped the deer-proof fence but that is another story...
Vivid juicy strawberries, red cherries and raspberries seductively reach for your attention early. Gorgeously medium bodied, sour cherries, rhubarb, raspberry rope and a subtle hint of blackberries add interest with an orange peel presence drawing out to a long and memorable finish with a little red apple crunch. Svelte and stunningly silky, the delicate spices on close add a superb moreishness. Yum, yum, yum.
