Wonderfully silky, this savoury Talland Hill Pinot Noir from Polperro is a fabulous drink. Organically and biodynamically farmed, it offers much to ponder and consider, I dig it.
From the vineyard on the doorstep of the cellar door, this sees 30% new French oak for 16 months.
Swirl the glass to reveal pine needles, field mushrooms, popcorn kernels, orange peel, cola, soy, strawberries and red plums. Tilled earth and crushed leaves build some form with time in the glass. The mid-palate is dry and reflects that savoury drive. Autumn is Pinot season and this is right in the slot.
