100% Sangiovese Rosé sourced from the Hilltops region, this Indomitus Rosa from Gundog Estate is delightfully textural.
It spends 12 hours on skins and six months on lees, resulting in an onion skin appearance with what could best be described as an orange fluorescence. A considered Rosé, it's a far cry from the commercial, chill-hard, crisp styles many desire. Textural interest is feathered through the palate and that is certainly the key feature. Red currants, cranberries, rhubarb, apricot kernel and tangelo all add layers of intrigue and offer much room for contemplation. Fine spices ripple along on a persistent finish, but I'm here for the thought-provoking delivery. Bravo!
