Paulmara Estate Xinomavro Blanc de Noir 2025

Off the back of a superb debut Xinomavro 2025 red wine release, this Blanc de Noir has been a neat addition to the range.

For those who love some stats, Xinomavro is the second most planted red variety in Greece, and the Barossa's Paulmara Estate is the only producer in Australia to produce it commercially. I hear whispers that some others are ready to emerge - stay tuned.

Pressed without skin contact has allowed this red variety to appear like a white wine, hence the name Blanc de Noir. With a slight rose gold hue, blackberries, pink lady apple, poached pears and pie apple are the highlights. The pretty scents of white field flowers add a pleasant perfume. There is an ever so fine brush of texture and a milk bottle lolly-like creaminess. Delicate ripples of cinnamon spices pin themselves to a sustained and moreish finish. Bone dry, this would smash a plate of dumplings. Great stuff and a nod to winemaker Jason Barrette for stretching the variety a little further.
