1970s planted Riesling named in honour of the Oakridge founder. Most wouldn't associate Riesling with the Yarra Valley, but there are a few pockets of the variety throughout the district.
Handpicked and whole bunch pressed, this spent time on full solids and lees.
A burst of green apples explodes from the glass. White field flowers and lilies seduce with a pretty perfume. It's a wine with fabulous energy and zeal. The suggestion of toffee apple rises up with thrilling fine phenolics that appear to be brushed on with a chalky finish that ups the moreish factor. Off dry and coming in at 10.5% alcohol, it's a Riesling with a very Germanic feel. What a ripper!
