Potentially one of the best wines I've tasted from Juxtaposed, this Smart Vineyard Grenache clearly stakes its claim when sitting alongside its stablemates - Wait Vineyard Grenache and Old Vine Grenache.
This is an intriguing and supremely moreish glass of delish. Sourced from the famed site in Clarendon, the fruit comes off 71-year-old vines and sees large format seasoned French oak.
Pretty scents of dried purple flowers, rose hip and caramel slice roll out the welcome mat. The more I let it breathe, the more it develops and moves to the juicy raspberry and baked raspberry spectrum. There is a neat flow through to the flavour profile yet maintaining a seductive mouth perfume. Raspberry rope and strawberries patiently await for their moment to shine as superfine spices shimmer with brick dust tannins on a persistent and elongated finish. It's bloody smashable really. I could bathe in it. Go here.
