I thoroughly enjoyed this Hazeldene release, but I felt it was nudged out slightly by its Henk sibling. Oh to be choosy... Get this in your glass, and you'll be grinning from ear to ear - guaranteed.
A Chardonnay to serenade you, think lemon juice, old school lemonade, barbecued nectarine, custard powder and silky, creamy caramel drops that add a perfect addition of seduction. Fine cinnamon and ginger spices zero in on the moreish factor. Tense with a firmish acidity, but there is some power behind the fruit, which complements it well. Then, before all is lost, a grapefruit tang brings the mouth to water - yes please! Another winner from the Vineyard Series range.
