The essence of an impressive medium-bodied Granite Belt Shiraz. Say, "Hello deliciousness," to this Ridgemill Estate Lincoln.
Over the years, I have found Granite Belt Shiraz to show a clear granite trait, which is not at all surprising given the soils, but that's not the case here, and I reckon I'd struggle to pick its terroir in a blind tasting. Regardless, this is a beautiful wine.
Be seduced by waves of pleasure in the form of squishy blueberries, raspberry coulis and red cherries. Char, pan juices, Dutch cocoa and peppered steak offer neat savoury nuances with a hint of black earthiness rising up late. Wonderfully silky and polished, it's a delight to embrace. Soft spices cling to a persistent finish, as does a moreish baked dark cherry pie note. Beautifully done, it's an easy recommendation.
