Tasty stuff. You'd be forgiven for pouring a glass only to see it vanish in quick time. A few have had a crack at the Shiraz Mourvedre blend and the crew at De Iuliis have smashed it.
A blend of Hunter Valley Shiraz and Hilltops Mourvedre, it carries a joyful ease and an effortless charm. A wine with presence, drive and interest, dark cherries, blackberries, blueberries and red currants build a neat fruit profile. Woodsy spices, dried leaves, mushroom broth, leather and puffs of earth fold into one another. Black pepper and barbecue rub spices drive long on a moreish finish leaving a fine rub of chalky and powdery tannins to consider. Gimme another glass please - make it large.
