An autumnal Rosé from Yelland & Papps, this is savoury, drying and textured. It's a wine that hits the spot for that charcuterie board while the sun slowly falls from the sky. Winning!
The Cinsault and Mourvedre are sourced from a single vineyard in Stone Well and made in the provincial style. The Mourvedre portion saw several hours skin contact delivering texture and complexity with the Cinsault component bringing the freshness and lift.
An expressive opening, think tangelo, marigold flowers, freeze-dried raspberries, and the white bit of the strawberry. The longer it sits, fennel, dried herbs and a fine trail of minerality cruise about. Fabulously weighted, it is a considered wine that is equally thought-provoking and wonderfully lip-smacking. It is very well done.
