Eureka Distilling Moreau Limoncello

Eureka Distilling is located in Marrickville, NSW, and this delicious Limoncello was lobbed my way. Grazie! Occasionally, Limoncello is served in shot glasses and thrown back - don't do that. Serve ice cold, sip slowly and savour this refreshing delight.

Limoncello is sometimes misunderstood outside its country of origin. In its Italian homeland, it was often enjoyed as a reward after a long day in the fields or on the farm. After a sip of this, it is easy to see its refreshing appeal.

Fresh lemons and lemon rind dominate the aroma profile, not surprisingly. Luscious and deadly smooth, it slides down with ease. Silky with a balanced frame, it certainly holds true to the refreshing detail expected. A deft tartness comes with the territory and some alcohol (25% ABV) warmth builds momentum on close. There are some commercial types that set a low bar and can turn newbies away from the style, but not this. It's a fabulous drop and a perfect starting point, simply because of the balance. Salute!
