Grown in the Riverland, Sue Bell's passion for wines that cope with our changing climate demands excite her no end, and this wine highlighted that. Her eyes gleam and she dances on the balls of her feet with excitement explaining how well this thick skinned, late ripening and drought resistant variety has such a big future ahead.
Those thick skins certainly play their part adding to the texture and phenolic grip. Scents of white and yellow flowers get you in the mood. I pick up a touch of elder flower too. Lemons and citrus juice threads its way through the core of the wine finishing with a captivating crunch and fine spice. One out of left field and well worth getting excited about.
Drink to three years.
