From a great Coonawarra vintage, here's a ripping Cabernet that will hold on longer than Wilson Phillips.
In a sad tale though, the Kidman family have decided to stop producing wine under their own label and will now sell off their fruit. This is the last Kidman Cabernet to be released and what a way to finish. If you can find it, jump on it!
A generously layered wine which unfurls beautifully as veneers of interest continue to reveal themselves. Think blackcurrants, dark plums, roasted capsicum, dark chocolate with a rub of earth. Touches of black tea, black olives and mint step forward late with fine Christmas cake like spices tickling the mouth on a long and sustained finish. There's a freshness to the acid profile which is impressive given its already six years old.
