To my surprise, two vintages of Grenache are on tasting at the cellar door (2016 and 2017). Better still, you can taste them at room temperature or chilled - clever. Grenache is one of those varieties where a little chill improves its versatility.
From a warm vintage, this is a tense wine. Concentrated berry fruit ensure there's a kick to its delivery. Sitting on the blue fruit spectrum, brown spices are quite pronounced. There's certainly more width with a plusher feel than the 2017. Thumbs up.
Drink to five years.
