Brand and Sons Glenroy Shiraz 2016

A tense and hard nosed wine on opening, it needed time to relax. It was completely different on day three of tasting - the beauty of looking at wines over a few days as opposed to only 30 seconds in a wine show.

Soft dark fruits mingle with woodsy spices and dark chocolate. A subtle red currant character emerges in stealth mode but doesn't necessarily want to stand out. Big, drying tannins coat the mouth evaporating any moisture in its path. Perhaps it's too drying? A few more years and some time in the decanter and this should be shining.
