Grandis Unearthed Pet Nat 2020

Shannon Burgess-Moore's side hustle is his Grandis Wines label. There are some clever wines in the range with this Pet Nat the latest addition. It's a blend of Semillon, Merlot and Sangiovese from Moorebank's vineyards on Palmers Lane.

Bottled without fining or filtration, a gentle fizz ticks away. Quite light through the mouth, red cherries, white peach skin and creamy drive are the main players. There's a lick of manderin peel too. It comes across clean despite the cloudy appearance. Some yeastiness is present but it's not dragging you down the bread aisle. The Semillon stands up on close with a splash of lemon juice and tang. A refreshing and cleansing Pet Nat sure to please.
