TarraWarra K Block Merlot 2017

Made from the Q45 Merlot clone which I'm finding is where the Merlot party is at, the TarraWarra K Block is a low yielding, north-west facing block on clay loam soils.

From a cooler year, the fruit was harvested three weeks later than 2016.

A spicy Merlot, generous dark plums and dark berry fruit is ably supported by cigar box, tomato bush and a dusting of dried herbs. On the third day of tasting it was still firm with its grip yet the drive was seemingly never ending. One for now or the long haul - you choose.
