A superb Cabernet. Not a hair out of place.
Only made in exceptional years, this is dangerously smooth as it glides through the mouth. With a dollop of Malbec (3%), there's a precision about the way this wine carries itself but it has big shoulders lugging some oak at present. Quite a savoury wine highlighted by delicate sage, clove and mint that is supported by elegant fruit. Blackberries and red plums sweep to the fore. On opening there's a Ribena presence but time in the glass sees licorice and black olives reveal a shy persona. A powdery like tannin profile caps off an incredible ride through the pleasure dome.
