Paulett Wines Shiraz 2018

A really impressive cool-climate Shiraz. The quality of the wines at Paulett is well worth embracing. Here we have another smart release.

Of the samples recently reviewed, the approachability is what stands out to me about these wines. They are not over complicated wines. They don't walk to a pretentious beat. They just satisfy in the best way possible.

Mint, some meatiness, dark berries and blackberry fruit. A touch of cedar rears its head too. Over a few days of tasting it softened beautifully. Wonderfully balanced, there is a soothing presence about the way it speaks. Well-integrated oak and laced with soft spices, I could get awfully comfortable with this wine. And perhaps I did. Great stuff.
