I haven't had a look at a wine from Beechworth for a while. It's good to be back. This is a blend of fruit from the Indigo Vineyard at Beechworth and the McNamara Vineyard at Whorouly in the Alpine Valley.
Toast, match sticks, fleshy white peach and lemon zest. In the mouth it carries some weight and fills the palate gracefully. Butter cream and vanillin to appease. Some sour dough feels too.
Wholesome, flavoursome and long - plenty to satisfy those who like a Chardy with some old school charm.
Drink now to six years.
