Off the top shelf from one of the great Coonawarra producers.
Having spent 22 months in new and one-year-old French oak, this is a beautiful wine which is still youthful despite being five years of age.
Attractive scents of bay leaf, blackberries and dense plums. Dried herbs rise up with more air under its wings. They spill from the glass lead by buckets of sage and its Mediterranean dried herb friends. A distinct trail of mint can't be missed either.
The fruit presents a lick of sweetness before filling the mouth with a lofty drive of restrained power. Full-bodied, that blackberry fruit and cassis is cuddled by well-placed oak. Tense tannins settle into a neat rhythm and give scope to what the future holds finishing dry and dusty.
