Nero named Ronda. My rugby team had a move called Ronda (or was it Rhonda?). It worked a treat too - many tries were scored as a result. This crosses the chalk with gusto as well applying some scoreboard pressure. A ripper!
Ronda in this case actually comes from the chalk inscriptions on two barrels - RO for Rouleur and NDA for Nero d'Avola. Made from 30% whole bunches, it's supple and sexy. It's all texture, great fruit with acid balanced to precision.
A wine I could polish off easily, the luscious fruit just purrs. Silky smooth through the mouth, aromas of violets, purple flowers and blueberries leap from the glass. The mouth is a medley of blue fruit, cola nuances along with dark and red berry fruits. A freakin' good drink - an extra point for smash factor. Go here, please do.
Drink to five years.
