Nannup Estate can be found in the Blackwood Valley region, 70km east of Margaret River. This Phillip Stanley label represents their best fruit and the label is only produced in exceptional years.
Quite a rich Chardonnay. Butterscotch, whipped butter and yellow-fleshed stonefruits all come to mind when this is in hand. A touch of cream, roasted nuts and a delicate ginger spice come in a second wave followed by a trickle of lemon juice which rides out a long finish. The acid is still a little firm, despite being four years old already, but it will aid further bottle age. Roast chicken is all the rage for this one I reckon.
