Rock-solid Cabernet from Mudgee's Huntington Estate. The type of wine you want to curl up with watching the Wallabies dominate the Rugby World Cup or as you read your favourite book. Hang on, let's just stick to reading your favourite book...
This is all black fruit. Deep-rooted stuff with a mat of superfine tannin rolled out for your pleasure.
Cassis, buckets of blackberries, dried herbs and plenty of mintiness. Dashes of eucalypt are tucked in behind too. It's soft with the acidity still a little tense - naturally, these Huntington reds are made for the long haul. The acid has a red apple feel to it yet the palate is generous and layered on thick. A dab of roasted peppers and some tomato bush comes to fore late. Yeah, it's rock-solid as ever and will only improve.
