Reserve Shiraz from Robert Channon. Good to see a current release with a few years already under its belt.
If only better glassware was used to enhance the tasting experience. Those pesky little tasting glasses don't express the aromatics all that well nor do they do quality wines justice - case in point. This and the Reserve Chardonnay deserve better.
To the wine... Stewed plums and spiced berries roll along. A fine dusting of black pepper across the palate lingers nicely. There's good width in the mouth with firm tannins to close. A wine which will live beyond eight years.
