Tellurian Tranter 2017

Beautifully perfumed, there's some restrained power lying within. A super Heathcote Shiraz.

Named after returned WWI soldier George Edwin Tranter who previously owned the land, this is Tellurian's flagship and is a blend of their best fruit from Block 3 TLR and Block 3 SR. Great news that Tellurian was certified organic in 2018 too, and 2019 releases onwards will be labelled as such.

Red and blue fruits fold into one another with ease. Some pan juices, oyster sauce, puffs of earth and herby traits play a wingman role letting the fruit shine. The acid is vibrant and has a red apple side to its persona. Perhaps a crunch too? A touch of cola and fine spices roll out to what seems a never ending finish. This medium to full-bodied Shiraz grows on you - be sure to decant before serving to give it time to put on its dinner suit.
