A new vintage and a new look for this release. McLaren Vale Chardonnay from a 30 year old vineyard on the outskirts of town. Sandy soils with a clay base, only free run juice is taken for this label.
Barrel fermented, green apple and rockmelon fruit to start. The fruit thins out quicker than expected mind you and it's the creamy and vanilla drive from the oak which seems to be the glue keeping this together. A squeeze of lemon juice rears its head at the death. It'd pass the roast chook test.
Drink now to three years.
