Chardonnay hitting the target. Well played here winemaker Adam Chapman.
One of a collection of wines from the Elezo range.
The fruit was handpicked, crushed and fermented on skins in clay amphora. Not a splinter of oak was used, and damn, this is a cracker.
Golden straw in appearance, it oozes texture and interest. An orange blossom aroma moves to fleshy white peach with flakes of preserved lemon rind. Slivers of almond add another layer, before a little waxy character pokes its head out but certainly doesn't detract from the beauty which flows generously. Great stuff, no question.
Drink now to six years.
