Savina Lane's first Petit Manseng release made off six-year-old estate grown vines.
Vigneron Brett Hutchings is pretty chuffed with this wine. He chose the variety specifically as it would be suitable to the region's climate. Petit Manseng is a thick-skinned white grape with small berries and a loose bunch which reduces disease risk.
What grabbed me about this wine was the delicate creamy drive and a super fine ginger like spice urging another sip. Lucious tropical fruit pulls you in highlighted by soft pineapple, white nectarine and shades of grapefruit. Lemon rind can be seen in the depths if you look hard enough. Great to chill out with after a warm day or it will pair well with seafood dishes.
