O'Leary Walker Seasonal Release Pinotage 2019

There are only a couple of Pinotage wines produced in Australia. This new release from O'Leary Walker is a welcome addition. Quite a delicious wine, I love its curves and rustic mouthfeel.

A variety common in South Africa, Pinotage is the marriage of Pinot Noir and Cinsault. Get it right and it's a beautiful wine - a case in point here.

The first of the Seasonal Release range, this comes off five year old vines and spent 12 months in French oak.

Smokey and gamey, some spice is gently rubbed through limbs. Medium bodied, it's earthy, baked plums come in spades as it happily offers generosity through the mouth. Dry and dusty tannins ride long and close out a terrific debut. Stretch your curiosity a bit further and embrace this beauty.

Drink to five years.
