Not the Tempranillo I was hoping for. A wine that asks more questions than gives answers.
Pungent aromas took me aback on opening. It smells like a stinky ferment. Where is the meatiness, savoury beauty or juicy fruit that makes Tempranillo such a wonderful food wine? In the mouth, it's simple and muted. There is nothing really to speak of. It's drying, very drying, with dusty and cocoa-like tannins sapping moisture from the mouth with a spicy close. Even after a few days I still found it hard to gravitate to let alone recommend.
