Geddes Seldom Inn Grenache 2015

I dropped into Geddes Wines on a recent trip to McLaren Vale. Go there. Smart wines, and if you get the chance to meet and chat to Tim Geddes, your McLaren Vale experience will be all the better for it. Knowledgeable, passionate, clever wines without the BS or pretentiousness.

This my best buy Grenache find of the trip. So much going on and lip smacking delicious.  So much so, I'm hosting a private wine dinner for some clients soon and I've got this in the list.

Raspberries and raspberry coulis, a touch of earth with evocative spices lead to a long and engaging length. Red fruits hum along nicely partnered by well placed savoury characters. 18 months in aged, large format oak is a gentle contributor too. Soft spice and fine tannins keep calling for the next sip. An absolutely delish wine and one which commands respect from a dry year. An extra point added for sheer pleasure factor.

Drink now to five years.
