Bird on a Wire Pinot Noir 2016

Not much goes amiss with Bird on a Wire. I love Caroline Mooney's meticulous approach to her wines. Here's a fine-boned Pinot worth your while.

Quite light in the glass, almost translucent. Dainty, the fruit almost tiptoes through the mouth. A faint whiff of cola and beef stock adds personality to the dark cherry and plums on offer. An ever so slight whiff of mint early but this blows off. The fruit is pitched beautifully with well-handled acidity knocking things into shape. A moreish finish of brown type spices adds further layers of pleasure. A great pinot which will see out many years yet.
