Meerea Park Alexander Munro Shiraz 2014

A captivating wine oozing personality and class. The brilliant Hunter Valley 2014 vintage produces another glamour.

The fruit was sourced from the Black Cluster site. A small portion of whole bunches were used in a new French oak Foudre before maturation in French oak barriques for 16 months.

The fruit glides through the mouth - nothing halts its momentum as it gradually builds form and strength. Medium bodied, plums and aniseed open proceedings. Dried Mediterranean herbs and dried red berry fruit. There's a concentration of plums which I keep coming back to. Dainty and delicate, there's a tension evident but that's to be expected - long, sleepy days in a dark place are in this wine's future. The acid is pitched perfectly for where it is now and will continue to soften with time. Superfine spices tickle the interest factor furthermore with a fabulous length to savour the moment. A pleasure to drink. Treasure this.

Best drinking from 2022 to as long as you want.
