From Dixon's Creek, the fruit was hand-picked before fermented in small parcels where a variety of techniques were employed - whole bunch and whole berry. A small portion of new oak was used with eleven months in oak all up.
Charcoal and black olives, black plums too. Blackberries, soy and star anise reveal themselves with time in the glass. Some Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce smokiness and sweetness comes to the fore too (my favourite BBQ mind you). A buxom type Sarah with those dark fruits humming away. Quite generous yet feels quite compact at the same time. Fine spices slip in behind and ride out a long finish. Soft pepper glides across the mouth. It drinks better with a little decant.
Drink now to eight years.
