Geoff Merrill Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Smells the goods. Eight years young and the freshness is awaiting an embrace. The best barrels make it to this Reserve label - a blend of McLaren Vale (70%) and Coonawarra (30%).

Lots to love about the savoury pleasure this delivers. Mint,  dried parsley, choc mint folds back in. Dried Mediterranean herbs add another layer. Quite generous and powerful, the fruit is tight through the core with tannins tense and seemingly unwilling to relax. They do in time as the mouth puckers away. Black fruit and plums bide their time and sit long. Flecks of coffee come late. Such a great drink with some of the aging done for you - 32 months in a mix of French and American oak too. Cup the hands and love this dearly.
