Yangarra Estate Ironheart Shiraz 2015

Stunning! The flagship Shiraz, no stone has been left unturned to ensure this wine delivers sublimity. And what a gorgeous wine it is - one wine to savour and embrace.

The fruit comes from the gravelly ironstone outcrop running through the vineyard. Handpicked, 25% whole bunches, cold soaked and wild yeast fermented. Aged for 15 months in new and old French oak (48/52).

Having recently walked the vineyard with Peter Fraser, it's hard not to be engaged by his passion for soils and his biodynamic and organic vineyards.

Super smooth, silk-like, it glides through the mouth with consummate ease. Blackberry fruit calls the shots from gate to post. Cheeky aromas early on reveal a faint touch of caramel and a dash of chocolate all parcelled up by laces of vanilla. There's a density packing a punch but it's not overly weighty. Layers of dark fruit peel back to be met by super soft spices. Tension is apparent which will lessen with time. It finishes delicately heading towards powdery. This will age beautifully and drink better with more time in bottle.

Give it a decant to drink now but will be drinking better 2020 for a decade+
