The Hunter Valley doesn't just do Semillon well. Murray Tyrrell planted these Chardonnay vines in the 1960s, and in many ways, changed the face of Chardonnay from the region single-handedly. Oh, this is superb.
Lemon juice, dainty whipped butter and vanilla cream. Deft raw cashews hover in the background. In a word, the fruit is pristine. Gorgeously medium bodied (12.5%), it's a satiny ride of pleasure without a bump in the road. White stonefruits fold effortlessly into lemony goodness and a citrusy tang that sits at the centre of the pleasure zone. The finish brings nothing but fabulous length and acres of pleasure. Share with those you love.
