Giant Steps Yarra Valley Syrah 2017

Cool climate Syrah on point. Damn, Steve Flamsteed has nailed this style. Run to this!

A blend of Sexton and Tarraford vineyards, handpicked, wild yeast fermentation, gravity fed to barrel (only 10% new oak), no fining and no filtration.

Awash with purple and blue fruit. 30% whole bunches has delivered salivating savoury love. A slip of earthiness, a touch of mushrooms and faint aniseed too, but the delicious fruit drive is hard to escape. Soft and delicate, it rolls around effortlessly perhaps akin to melted chocolate. Time in the glass reveals some blackcurrant late. Superfine spices linger beautifully - superb length indeed. Oh, this is pleasure.

Drink now to eight years.
