Balgownie Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Pop Balgownie Estate on your list of wineries to check out. With a foot rarely put wrong, winemaker Tony Winspear is making some smart wines from their Bendigo vineyards. This Cabernet is another winner in the range.

This is a Cabernet that walks along humbly yet has an engaging personality. Restrained power the key. Layers of dark fruits and berries keep ticking away closely partnered by delicious savoury goodness and well handled oak. Soft and long, the finish just doesn't want to give up leaving a dusting of dark chocolate and cocoa like tannins as a parting gift. A wine that will age comfortably beyond a decade too. Great stuff.
