Maverick Barossa Ridge Shiraz 2018

Quite a young wine and no where near its best. You get a sense of precision about the way it struts, but for now, its suit looks tight fitting and neck tie rushed.

Pretty aromas of purple flowers and blue fruits. There's an abrasive edge early with a savoury push led by clover and black earth. Well weighted medium bodied fruit draws you in and sit long. Dusty tannins are still a little tense with a brightness about the acidity which brings the mouth to water. Decant well in advance to enjoy now to patience will reward.
