The beauty of medium bodied Shiraz and depth of Cabernet all parcelled up cleverly.
A tense number early, this found its groove a few days on. Initially I had a taste but parked it returning to see gorgeous butterfly emerge from the chrysalis. The black fruits from the Cabernet (10%) slide underneath the juicy Shiraz with absolute ease. So fine and measured, the fruit seems to float through the mouth before digging in its claws in at the death. A subtle hint of meatiness with puffs of red Hunter Valley earth add to its beauty. Super fine tannins and exotic spices refuse to leave on what seems a forever length. This is brilliant!
Drink to eight years.
