Yalumba Vine Vale Grenache 2020

Welcome to 2022! A couple of weeks away from the keyboard and it's time to get back into it. Best we start with a Grenache - heck, why not? This release from Yalumba is rock star material in the making, so much so I bought six. You probably should too.

Vine Vale is the jewel in the Barossa Grenache crown - that was clear to me having sampled 155 wines from across the district for my book Grenache - Barossa Grown.

Floral, bright and bunchy, there is a crunch factor too. Roast peppers extend their hand to play to be met by a clenched fist that is just not ready to release its grip. Another year or two in the bottle will do no harm here. Blueberries and blackberry leaf, there is an undeniable sleek factor that leads to a long finish. Drink this on a boat dressed in linen with the breeze in your face. Yes!

Drink to eight years.
