The top Grenache from Pirate Cru Wines. This wine is a barrel select that sees 3 years in French oak, 40% of which was new.
Warming and spicy, that oak influence can be seen from the outset. Perhaps a little too much for mine. A wine that would benefit from a good decant, it slowly reveals itself with time in the glass. Gingerbread, red plums and dark cherries muse. There is a respectable depth here as raspberries try to emerge late. Light the fire on a cool night with a glass of this in hand.
